Supposedly their cvts are much better. I still think it is a better idea to get rid of it and get the toyota.
Subaru (owned by Fuji Heavy Industries) makes their own CVTs in-house, not Jatco. See below: scroll down to ‘In-house production at Fuji Heavy Industries’. Now the former Subaru conventional automatics were based on Jatco designs.

That being said, your Outback is included in the years for the CVT warranty extension to 10 year/100,000 miles. The newer CVTs are supposedly better (and the Outback had issues up , but yours being a 2015 I would be leary to own it past 100,000 miles, especially if you plan to keep it for 200,000+ miles. It’s worth looking to see how much you can get for it at the least.

Another thing, too, is these CVT units are sealed with lifetime fluid and if you change the fluid within the warranty period it can result in a warranty claim denial, but I think that’s nonsense, because these transmissions should have their fluids changed every 30,000 miles to last longer.
Subaru makes its own CVT but similar to other manufacturers, the CVT is weaker compared to other transmissions. Change the transmission fluid every 30-40k miles to make it last if you want to keep the car.
And don’t tow with it.
