Scotty my recently purchased 2015 Taurus 3.5 has 54,000 miles on it so I’m doing a transmission fluid service at my local Ford dealer. They want to take out all the fluid with a fancy back flush machine. I was just going to start doing a drain and refill on a very regular basis. Isn’t there about 3 qts left in the torque converter after a simple drain? Thanks.
Do not send it to the dealer for a service like that. Also do not flush transmission fluid at all. Just drain the fluid and refill.
I work for a Ford dealer so I get service for almost nothing. Are you not recommending it because of the typical cost at a dealer?
I didn't know that you worked for a Ford dealer. The only thing that got me is the cost at dealers and that you mentioned "flush" in your question. I don't flush transmission fluid.
