Should I buy a 2015 to 2017 Camry

Hello Scotty,
I'm considering buying a Camry SE. I've ruled out the 2012 to 2014 models because of the awful transmission torque converter problem that plagued them. I researched 2015 to 2017 and found that they don’t have that issue anymore but 2017 seems to be the best year model of the 3; 2015 to 2017. In your opinion and 40 year of experience, which of these 3 would you recommend?

Thanks,

Ernie, Miami FL.

Those models are great. I would get the 4Cylinder naturally aspirated of 2017 model year.

If it were me I would go with the final model year 2017 (and most refined) of that generation.  So, go with 2017 > 2016 > 2015.

The best option is the petrol V6. The I4 is also acceptable. The hybrid ones will get pricy when repairs come in.

I like the 2AR-FE engines from 2015-18. Buying a third Rav4 soon with that engine and the 6-speed U760E transmission (the transmission's best years are 2016-2018).

The 8-speed, well, I don't trust the 8-speed transmission yet.
