2016 Nissan Frontier V6 vibrates at idle

Runs great, no codes, 70K miles but does vibrate at idle or when RPM drops below 700 or at a red light.

What can be wrong?

Jack up engine and if the vibration goes away it’s motor mounts otherwise pull the plugs and see what condition they are in along with the air filter

Engines will vibrate a little at idle there's nothing wrong that

In addition to the above answer, watch Scotty’s video on how to make your car run better with a little spray cleaner.

700rpm is a bit low for a smooth idle.

I did clean the mass air and throttle

Engine & transmission mounts all good?

visually yes

There is a service bulletin I believe Applies to this year for an ecm reprogram for this concern if vibration at idle while in gear. Otherwise I would say If you have access to a scanner with capability see if you can bump the idle by about 50 rpm or so and see if it lessens

really? I will look for the bulletin but dealers had no such info so far
A little bump-up would definitely help but I was afraid to mask the underlying problem?

I can check Monday year specifics but there shouldn’t be any other concern as long as the mounts look ok

I would appreciate it!

Bulletin ends for a 2015 model year so it would not apply to a 2016 but raising the idle will still remedy that concern

There is also a note to check ecm program number to see it may still apply now that I read a little more in depth

Do you recommend going to Nissan dealer with this info?

It wouldn’t hurt it’s right in the flow chart that if it’s outside of the year range to check the ecm program number to verify it does or does not apply

And they could also bump the idle for you as well if it doesn’t but I wouldn’t recommend raising it more than 50 rpm

I actually asked about RPM raise before and they were absolutely NO because its against factory specs

That’s b.s there’s no reason they can’t do it even just 50 rpm for customer satisfaction
