I have a 2017 Dodge Journey Crossroads with the 3.6L V6 and 95,000 miles on it. Occasionally when shifting into drive it will clunk really hard, or when in reverse won't take off right away when the gas pedal is pressed, or shift hard from 1st to 2nd or 2nd to 3rd. One of these scenarios will happen once a week or so. The transmission fluid has never been changed, would changing it solve these or at least help?
Fred does help cuz if it doesn't you're going to need a transmission rebuild
I have the same make and model except it is a SXT AWD and the trans has been rebuilt around 62k miles. Vehicle now has 86k.
The transmission in my car feels fine still and no longer is stuck in direct drive (2nd gear or "limp mode"), but I am not sure if I need to buy new CV joints for all 4 wheels or a rear diff (or if there is a drive axle down the center between front and back), but I feel a violent banging when accelerating from a stop and transmission is going thru gears.
I don't race the journey or excessively rev the engine.
