Hi,
I love the youtube channel and the forums - you are a great American!
We recently got a used 2017 Lexus ES 350 with about 19k miles, automatic transmission. Sometimes when trying to start it, it takes a long time to turn over.
We took it back to dealer, they said it needed fuel pump replaced so we did that (no cost since car was 'Lexus certified' and still under warranty). Unfortunately, it still sometimes does this. See link for youtube video I uploaded. Any ideas? The battery tested still good. Note that it never fails to turn over, just sometimes takes a while to turn over.
Thanks!
Any codes?
Hey! Thanks for answering - unfortunately, I don't have a scan tool to try. Sorry!
Ok...they changed the fuel pump and still has long crank time before it fires up. Do you hear the fuel pump prime before trying to start the car? Scotty says start simple and work your way up. (you have parts from the tank to the injectors along with a bunch of sensors also). It's Lexus "certified" but need someone to analyze the data to see where the break-down is occurring so you're ride is not tied up at the dealer more than necessary.
Hi, thanks for answering - agree that it could use a data analysis.
Try my video make your car run better with a little spray cleaner.if that doesn't work pay a mechanic to do my video how to clean fuel injectors without removal
Understood and will do - thank you kindly for the response!
I agree with Scotty (who has discussed this): The label "Certified" means next to nothing, except as a marketing ploy to increase prices, and lure customers in.
