I have 2017 Ford F250 6.7L not going into auto regen. The message center was indicating full and know indicates overloaded with an additional message telling me to drive to clean. I have drove a 3 hr trip on the interstate with a trailer, but still no luck. I have forscan and have attempted to do a manual regen but I receive an error message every time saying the parameters are not met.
What actually activates the auto regen to start (sensor)?
I think most DPFs use a pressure sensor, which can go bad; let’s hope it’s that, since it’s not an expensive fix. But your problem could also be the filter itself or the computer. A regular scan tool usually won’t figure it out.
Unless you can verify that exhaust/emissions components are still covered by your warranty (probably not) I would not take it to a dealer, because they are liable to send you right to replacing the DPF assembly ($5000+). Go to an independent shop that does a lot of 6.7 powerstrokes.
Thanks. I will work with a diesel shop...can't get into the dealer anyway.
Any codes?
No codes. Just the message screen.
