Topic starter

2017 Ford Escape Titanium 109k We are both retired & mostly go to the store I get code P401 sometimes & then will be fine. Says that is the O2 sensor #2 & catalytic converter. Is there anything we can do to avoid replacing the sensor and catalytic converter?

I get code P401 sometimes ... Says that is the O2 sensor #2 & catalytic converter.

Presumably P0401. (Let us know if that is not the case.)

Codes don't tell you a specific part is bad, they tell you a condition exists that may have multiple potential causes.

Look up the possible causes of the P0401 and perform diagnostics to determine the actual fault. (That code does not refer to catalytic converter or O2 sensor.)
