2017 GMC Sierra won’t lock!

My 2017 GMC Sierra denali wont stay locked. When I drive down the road or am parked I can hear it keep trying to unlock randomly. It won’t lock with my key fob. I can manually hit the door lock button inside the truck and all the doors will lock but if I hit the lock button or unlock button on the keyfob all the doors unlock. I assume the actuators are good if they’re all manually locking and unlocking with the door button. I also changed the bcm 8 fuse that controls the door locks and it still happens.

thank you for your time!

Often that is a failure in the main switch assembly on the driver side. If not that it can be a failing body control module computer

Thank you! The switch assembly looks like it’s $140. Is there a way to test that for continuity before I spend the money on a new one.

A key always worked for me.

Have you tried using your spare key?

I didn’t get a spare keyfob sadly. I have changed the batteries in it though.

I was thinking of a shorted or stuck lock/unlock button on the key fob.

could be broken wires in the door harness

Direct from "The Old Guys Car Manual"

1. Insert key.

2. Turn key to right.

3. Turn key back to starting posistion.

4. Remove key.

5. Open door.

6. Get in, stop whinning and go! {pear}:surprised: {pear} {pear}:laughingoutloud: {pear}

how does that keep it from unlocking itself while parked?

It started randomly locking yesterday. Wonder if whatever is messed up had time to dry out. I’m sure it will mess up next time it rains
