Hello,
My daughter has a 2017 Civic. She has almost 100k miles on it. She was told she needs a transmission fluid change/flush. Is this true or a sales gimmick?

Automatic or manual transmission? Either way, transmissions need regular service for best life. See the site FAQ for details.

Does that 2017 Civic have a CVT transmission? Usually with CVT, it’s wise to change the fluid (drain and fill) every 30,000 miles; If a regular conventional (torque converter) automatic, then we’re talking every 40,000-50,000 miles including the filter (if it’s serviceable).
