Scotty I bought a 2017 Yukon Denali with all the bells and whistles with 80,000 miles on it but $10,000 under market value. What are your thoughts and what should I look out for as far a preventative maintenance or issues. I also have a 2008 Jeep Commander that I bought brand new and now I have over 215,000 miles and no issues, I say this because I keep what I buy and try to keep my cars running for a long time. Thx
you probably want to disable the AFM. Right @mod_man?
It's also a direct injection engine, which is problematic
@mountainmanjoe,
Yes on both of your statements. Disabling the AFM system will prevent all of the lubrication issues that come with it. I would look into it as soon as possible as it it is not difficult to do.
And being a direct injected motor, carbon build up will be an issue to deal with. A tougher thing to deal with as all you can really do is a carbon cleaning on the intake manifold every so often.
Should I use the Rapid Technology device or the full “expensive” delete
I've only done the full delete, but I see there are some positive things said about Range Technology's solution. Just haven't used it myself.
What’s the cost behind full delete and thank you for the feedback and responses
To really delete it properly, you want to replace all the lifters. To replace 16 lifters and install a non-AFM cam you're in the $2500 to $3500 range.
It also has what looks like a plastic intake. Not sure how I feel about that.
