Hey! Having an issue, any advice would be greatly appreciated. My late father left behind a 2020 GMC Sierra SLT, which my mother has been keeping in her garage for a couple months in order to sell. I drove it last a month ago, and it worked just fine. Today, it has no start nor electronics, and when trying to jumpstart the electronics came on, but it will not turn over. Took the battery to autozone for a test and a full charge, came back all good, checked all connections to the battery/terminals but it still does the same thing. We really need to sell this vehicle so my mom can have the money she needs to live. Thanks for any advice in advance.
@Oskool just got home from work and putting the truck in neutral and starting it worked! Thank you so much, you’re a total lifesaver!
@simonpavlik Great! I'm glad it worked! Sounds like maybe a faulty neutral safety switch.
Forgot to mention in original question, it’s just gone over 55,000 miles
If you turn the headlights on are they bright? When you try cranking the engine does the interior dome light on the ceiling of the truck stay lit, including the dashboard lights?
@oskool the headlights are bright as usual, and when connected to jumpers and trying to crank the interior lights and dashboard lights stay consistently lit.
It sounds like the battery has a good connection. I would check to see if the starter fuse is blown and see if you can hear the starter relay clicking in the fuse box when the key is in the crank position. If both those things look good then we can move on to testing the voltage to the starter with a multimeter or a test light.
@siminpavlik Have you tried putting the truck in neutral and starting it?
