Hey Ya'll, Hey Scotty,

Im looking for a SUV I need one for 20k or less, I want one that is semi modern and comfortable. I am looking at this Toyota because its affordable but is it worth 19,998. Any recommendations are appreciated as well. I have time just not that much money.

Thanks, James

Are you borrowing to pay for a car?

The interest rates are very low on new cars.

A coworker got robbed financing a 2018.  Literally, she is paying more a month for a 2 year old Ford Escape than what 2020 models are going for brand new.

Just take the sticker price of a car and divide it by 60 months.  Offer a little less and see what you get.

Brand new CH-R XLE should be around $400 a month (60 months, with zero down payment).

$19,998, … sounds like a used car dealer lot deal. You say, you have time, … look into private market, than. You will save money, … you most likely will find a better small SUV? Just a suggestion, …

1. Look into private party deals like craigslist

2. If you are not saving much, consider a new one.

3. The CH-R's are not good cars in my opinion they are not practical and are not that well made they are imported from Turkey and seem to just be a teenager car. I would really consider the Honda HR-V, which is reliable (like the CHR), but also is more practical and efficient. It also costs less believe it or not.

HR-V MSRP starts at 20,900 bucks used ones around 16 17k easily.

Or you could forget about the idea of a crossover and get a 2019 or so Honda Fit, they are also excellent cars.
