2018 Dodge Journey - Automatic SE 4 Valve 2.4 L - My mileage is at 111,469 I had some misfiring and was told to replace a couple of ignition coils and spark plugs. It was driving fine for a few days now my check engine light is on and I got a code of P1776 - Solenoid Switch Valve Latched in LR position. Also, recently had my transmission fluid and filter changed and was told there was excessive metal particles in the pan. Does this mean my transmission is about to go out? Or could it just be a part that would need to be replaced?

no, it means it's already gone
@imperator I took to to a transmission specialist and so far he's saying he can't find the issue. Since it is already bad shouldn't he be able to tell me which parts would need to be replaced or should I find another mechanic at this point?
That part is the transmission

It's likely, assuming what you were told is true. Are there any symptoms?

@chucktobias Yes, I believe it wouldn't shift gears. I was able to accelerate but my RPM gauge was going up really high and I had a humming noise. Someone explained to me that my car was in limp mode.
