I have a 2018 Equinox Premier AWD with 68,000 miles with the 1.5 Turbo LYX engine. it’s in very good shape and has been very reliable. It is equipped with auto stop start, but it DOESN’T have a way to turn that system off. I’ve seen a wiring harness that plugs into the system that tells the auto stop start system that the hood is open so it doesn’t let the auto stop start to work. It doesn’t tell the whole car that the hood is open, it only tricks that system. Would you recommend this as a way to prevent wear and tear?
With today's cars it's a very bad idea to plug aftermarket hacks into their complex electrical systems.
It has good reviews, but it’s probably better to take the risk of having the auto stop start rather than the electrical disabler.

Just get a tuner, find a pro who tunes cars for living, and permanently disable the stop/start system. When you sell the vehicle, just return it to factory specifications. Tuners store that information automatically as a fail-safe. You can find professional tuning specialists online, never physically bringing it into some kind of shop. I tuned my 2017 Mustang to require premium gas only.
How did you go about finding one? Newer equinox’s than mine came with a disable button, but not in the 2018 premier trim. This should hopefully make it easier to program. since mine is already in very good shape, i think disabling the auto stop start would help it.
