I have a 2019 Acura TLX V6 65kmi that has a connecting rod bearing recall. I don't have any symptoms (some kind of knock or sound). I do all my owm work on the car. The oil has been normal with no anomalies, gas milage has not changed (32hiway/20city) and the engine runs so smooth, I can't feel it running when sitting in the car. I don't want the dealership to do the recall because they never keep the engine, fasteners, seals, gaskets like original from the factory. Something is always missing, loose or not put together right. What is your opinion? Should I take the car to the dealership to get the recall done if I had no issues after 65Kmi on the car?
Thanks,
Cary
Well, here's the problem with connecting rides. You'll often have no symptoms at all until the damn thing blows and breaks apart. I share your sympathy cuz the idiots that work at dealerships half the time screw up the work. That's true too. So you're kind of between a rock and a hard place. And I rather doubt that they'll even take the engine apart half the time they listen to it and give you some line of bologna and said they fix something. They don't even do anything. If you did want it done, I would demand pictures of the job and let you see it when the engine is actually torn apart
