took it to 2 dealerships and they said that the sound is normal that the high pressure fuel pump is doing that sound i have to videos i would like to upload one of a new tacoma and one of my tacoma.
Go to that dealership and have them start up a new Tacoma and prove to you that "they all do that".
If they won't do that, they are probably lying - imagine that. Then go to another dealership with a friend and pretend the friend is shopping for one. Any Toyota dealer can do your warranty work.
It’s true that high pressure direct injection pumps sound horrible, but it is, indeed, normal. These pumps are driven off the camshaft, … off one point on one of the cams, hence noise comes from just one point on top of cylinder head. I suggest, … touch this pump with your hand while the engine is running, … you will feel it!
Anyway, … confirming this with a Toyota dealer, … or three, is good course to take.
