2020 RAM 1500 EcoDiesel vs Hemi V8

Hi, I'm looking to purchase a 2019-2021 Ram 1500 but not completely convinced either way on which engine I want, the EcoDiesel or the Hemi. I love how the EcoDiesel drives and the fuel economy, but I've heard of inherent problems with that engine. The Hemi is probably a smarter choice, but at the end of the day it is a Ram and I will be getting the extended warranty for when, not if, problems arise. And yes, I know, everyone will be saying just get a Tundra or F-150, but the ride quality and interior of the Ram far surpasses that of any truck I've driven. What is everyone's opinions? Thanks in advance!

Of the two engine choices, and if you must stick with the Ram, go with the Hemi since the Ecodiesel is an Italian designed engine (by VM Motori), and one of the worst Diesel engines made (per Scotty).  At least with the Hemi, it is less likely to leave you stranded.  Be sure with the extended warranty to only get the OEM (not some 3rd party), and realize they can still try to deny a claim (saying something is “normal” - be prepared for that.)  I would avoid the Ram altogether, but if you must get it go with the Hemi at least.  Then, I would get rid of the vehicle before the warranty expires.

Also, see below for Hemi issue to be aware of:
