I have a 2020 TOYOTA COROLLA HATCHBACK. When I turn the fan speed of the blower motor to the 2nd highest fan speed there is a very high pitch noise that is constantly on. Since its under warranty, I took it to the dealer and they said it was "normal" so they didnt want to do anything to fix the issue. Is this normal or should I just complain to Toyota and wait for a solution to this issue?
Unfortunately their normal way to resolve costumers concerns is the answer " this is normal", and it became normal. Sad but true.
Yeah :/. Going to be talking with a Toyota Rep so hopefully that goes some where. Do you know if I can report that issue through NHTSA?
You should ask the dealer if their are cars on the lot which EXACTLY are the same year/make/model and see if THOSE make the same squeal noise as yours ! More than likely they are quieter..... as they should be. Go to another dealer and lets see..
I wouldn't even ask. I would demand to go sit in one, and bring the rep with me.
So thats what they did basically. They looked at a different car (same year, model, ect.) and told me that since its in another car they cant do anything cause under their view its "normal". I have talked with Toyota and I will be talking to a local Rep on the issue. How that goes later I have no idea.
All I can say is good luck with the Toy rep...and I mean it in a positive way although when it comes to depending on dealers AFTER sales..they seem to retrench from that WIDE smiling and accomodation they did BEFORE SALES...You know what I mean...You bought a NEW CAR..you should have some expectation of of the level of quality Toy has gained thru the years....they should continue that tradition...heh - I sound like an info mercial. Anyways HAPPY NEW YEARS!
Hmm that would be a way to go with the Toyota Rep actually. Like man I thought Toyota had such a great reputation and here I bought the car cause its dependable...and so on.
Check to see if the system makes the same noise when you switch back and forth between the fresh air mode and the recirculate mode. If it's noisy in the fresh mode and not in the recirculate mode, you might have some crud in the air inlet ( which is bypassed in the recirculate mode). When was the last time you changed your cabin filter?
Funny enough this issue was with the car from the beginning. I still have the filter when I purchased it in May 2020. But this seems like an issue that the corolla HB (maybe sedan) this was an issue with the 2019 version as well at least from the research I have seen and also seems to be the only issue I see on car complaints website to for the 2020.

@Uasoil123 Should add your comment on carcomplaints to keep the ball rolling....AND did you mention this to the car dealer and educate them ? The MORE complaints the more the public becomes aware. Complaints are as follows:
The 2019 fan is being used for the 2020 model I am sure
Got the corolla hatchback not even a week ago and whenever the blower is running, there is this annoying, high pitched sound that gets louder as the fan blows harder.

I can only use the air or heat on a low setting because the faster the blades move the higher the noise gets. After a couple minutes I will get a headache but I deal with it because I can't drive with no A/C on its way too hot here.

High pitch whine that comes from the engine bay at certain fan speeds. I have fiddled around trying different fan speeds and it seems like half of them produce this whine. It's very annoying and has even given me a headache (only had it for one day). I am going to take it in back to the dealer after the weekend. I'm hoping it just needs to be broken in (only 50kms at the moment).

Yeah I mentioned that this was an issue with the 2019 but he wanted to only compare the 2020s so he could probably not have to actually do anything about it.
