2021 Ford Ranger Engine light on, 50,000mi recirculation pressure sensor

Hello! I have a 2021 Ford Ranger with turbocharged 2.3-liter four-cylinder engine with 82,000km (50, 952mi). When the vehicle hit almost exactly 80, 000km the engine light came on and I was quite concerned. When checking my ford pass app, I received a notification stating "The emission control system has detected the exhaust gas recirculation pressure sensor signal is not as expected when the vehicle is at idle."

After seeing that, I refilled the gas tank, drove about 50km, and the light went away. However, I have about 2000km more of the odometer and the engine light and same message has come up again... It's worth noting I am up on oil changes (about every 8,000km) and I do a lot highway driving. Also, whenever the light comes on, it's been hot and humid outside...

I'm just wondering about the severity of this issue, and if it is something that should be dealt with asap. I'm just leery to take it to the dealer, because they wanted over $100 just to diagnose...

Thank you so much for any information you are able to give!

emissions equipment (which this is) is warrantied for a long time. Longer then even the powertrain.

If the problem is caused by a defect -- and I don't see why it wouldn't be. Highly unlikely to be driver or maintenance error -- then the entire repair should be covered. I think the dealership trying to charge you is a scam. Make sure you read the fine print in your warranty contract.
