While driving I ran into traffic, a homeless person came to the side of my car, 2021 Lexus RX350L and he removed the chrome between the side mirror and the fender. I tried to stop him but it took him only a few seconds and he left with it. Am trying to replace this part but I don't know what it is called or where to buy it online. Please help me with this information.

The junkyard would be the cheapest place

Did you report him to the police?

Hate to say this but in some places even if you have dash cam footage police will do nothing because that person is homeless but you have money to have a car so you deserve the damage. I live in a city like this and I've had them do damage to my car and even with footage I was told it's my problem.

Crimes are definitely THEIR problem. Vandalism is a misdemeanour, and in some states a felony that can get you more than a year in jail. Even though they may be homeless, local cops probably know who they are and where to find them. If they become enough of a nuisance they have to be dealt with. If the cop is negligent of his duty, then lodge a complain at his precinct. Even if they're overwhelmed , the incident needs to be registered since that's how resources are allocated and policies are made.

I'm going to say where I live; Seattle, WA State. While legally it is a misdemeanor but they don't do anything about it here. They know who it is but don't do anything about it. Cops don't arrest because they know the person won't be prosecuted anyways. I don't want to turn it into a political thing but if I post a picture of a place I pass by everyday on my way to and from work it's just unbelievable what homeless people can get away with in this city. I do agree with reporting it without a doubt but at least in Seattle nobody expects any results from the reporting other than statistics.

And if people keep ignoring it , it won't get better.
You pay city taxes for protection right?
At least file a report.

Oh yeah I definitely do agree with reporting it for sure. I should have been more clear that one should report it but depending on where they live (like in Seattle for example) they might not be able to expect any outcome other than statistics.
Don't get me started with the tax thing; we pay a ton of taxes here but we get nothing in return. They tore the tire on my new Civic and completely scratched the rims and I had it all on camera. Well I had to pay out of pocket for replacement and when the time came for tab renewal they charged me the exact full amount of $400.

That's sad.
I live near Seattle and visited several times. It is a beautiful city and I always marvelled how such a large city had so few homeless. But it has gone way way downhill. It has become worse than Vancouver which has been known for its homeless problem.

It definitely was a beautiful city. I was born and raised in Seattle but then went away for 10years and when I came back I was in a total shock from what has happened to it. Downtown Seattle is a mess and I never drive there with my windows down anymore; Ballard if full of tents on sidewalks. and being homeless alone isn't the issue; it's the crime and mentally ill that make this city unsafe. I have pepper spray and taser in my car and carry it with me at all times. Sorry for going off topic with this.

Do you have a picture of the part? maybe it can help with figuring out the name. Otherwise if you want brand new OEM go to the dealership and ask them to order that exact part or at least get the part number then buy it online.

Here's one place to find parts online for Lexus when you have the part name or number:
