My 2022 Civic is shuddering and vibrating like a dragster

Scotty, so glad to be able to contact you.

I traded in my 2018 Accord Touring for a 2022 Civic Touring. From the first day I took it back to dealer because it shuddered, vibrated, trembled. To make a long story short the dealer and Honda have strung me along saying nothing wrong with the car. The dealer’s shop said it was not the engine mounts and had to take several weeks to even get them to see it.

I have had people ride in it and wondered if I bought a dragster. I have had master mechanics look at it and agree something is wrong. I took it to another dealer whose service manger agreed it vibrated a lot. He gave me a bottle of Techron and asked to try three fills.

I have done everything with Honda and dealer to no avail. I asked them what I should say when people ask me why the ride is terrible. They say the car is doing what it should. Two dealers have confirmed the shaking.

How the heck to I get this off dead center. What do I do please?? I am 86 and cannot be screwed on this. Yes, I never should have traded for it.

I will certainly answer any possible questions……….

Steve

I have this exact same car (for those asking it has the 1.5L turbo charged engine) with 1000 miles on it so far and it has never had this vibrating described by the OP since day one and from the civic forum I follow I haven't seen this as a complaint (so maybe not a widespread issue and just yours is a faulty unit). The only rattling issue I've heard of so far is a kind of common dashboard rattling issue in this trim which Honda issued a service bulletin for. I don't know maybe it's a faulty car you have ended up with so if they can't fix it you might want to look into the lemon law if it's an extreme issue; you shouldn't have to deal with going back and forth to a dealership for a brand new car.

Thanks..................I guess I have to check out the Lemon law?

Try to raise a stink on social media (or even local media).

I would keep all your paperwork for your dealer visits and discuss your possible case with a Lemon Law attorney if the dealership isn't going to do anything to remedy.

I would say just have all the paperwork showing dealership visits and also showing how many days the car was at the shop each time (this second piece matters in WA State). But as far as raising a stick on social media I think it's too soon for that and maybe not even needed. A friend had some issue with their brand new CR-V and after a few dealership visits not fixing it they were given a replacement car which has been working totally fine and they didn't have to go through much trouble other than documenting dealership visits and days the car was at the service center.

How many miles do you have on it? The car has to have enough miles on it for the transmission and other computer modules to learn your driving habits.

I now have 4800 due to the delay they have engineered.. It's a touring 1.5 Turbo
