Scotty what do you think of Nissan switching to an automatic transmission for the 2022 Pathfinder?
It’s better than the Jatco CVT they were using before (but that was a low bar to begin with), although the ZF 9-speed (designed for FWD applications) has had issues in other products (FCA, Honda) and I am not thrilled with that design. Gearbox expert @Dan can tell you more about the ZF-9 speed for transverse applications, but it’s reason enough to avoid that vehicle.

Imo a Jatco CVT is still better then the 9ZF.
But I agree, it’s better just to avoid making that choice at all and getting something that’s built better
If they switch to traditional automatic transmission, that can be a good move for Nissan.
