Scotty,

I have a situation with the quality of 2024 Ford Mustang! On Dec 16, 2023 we purchased a new Mustang GT with $49k.

Unfortunately, within the first month of taking possession on Dec 16, 2023, I have faced recurring issues, primarily with the car randomly refusing to start.

I took the car for two dealer, first they replaced the battery but it did not solve the problem. Second attempt, they told it might be the battery junction box. Now they are telling me the main harness connection that connect to the battery junction box has a damage from the battery. They wants to replace the harness which mean they wants to teardown the fenders, bumper and the dash. This became a major repair for a car with only 800 miles.

Considering the substantial investment of approximately Approx $50,000 in this vehicle, encountering such frequent issues is unacceptable. Therefore I filed a complaint with Ford asking replacement of my current car with a new, defect-free model or buy-back the vehicle.

Also, I discussed with ford the unsatisfactory experience with Ford's Road Assistance and customer service. During a breakdown at 8 pm, multiple calls to Ford Customer Service yielded no contact with a specialist. Additionally, while the car undergoes repairs, ford approved $40 per day for a rental car falls short, as no rentals below $88 per day were found in Charleston, SC.

This situation seems unfair, especially considering the significant investment made in purchasing the car.

now ford is ignoring my request and just they want to repair the car and accept it. Please, I would like to know you recommendation how to force ford to replace or buy-back the vehicle?

thank you,

You need to investigate the lemon laws in your state and will probably need a lawyer.

I did and lemon law in South Carolina stated that I can files a lemon law only after the dealer attempt to repair the car for 3. Times or the vehicle was under repair over 30 days. Meaning have a major repair and tearing the car apart mean nothing to the state and the dealer.

ford approved $40 per day for a rental car falls short

Is that what the warranty fine print guarantees?
