Hello All,
I've got a 2022 Kia Forte GT, 1.6L, 6 speed manual transmission, with a turbo, all bone stock and 12000 miles on the odometer. I've only had it about a month.
I was checking my oil, and noticed the dipstick smells like gasoline. The oil was just changed about 1000 miles ago and the dealership didn't bring up any issues when that was done.
How big of a problem is this? Should I just go ahead and install a catch can or is that not the right solution?
Thanks.
Send a sample oil for analysis to have a solid proof.
Installing an oil catch can can void your warranty.
It's a big problem. The engine will wear out prematurely.
Catch cans don't help with oil dilution.
Kia makes really crappy engines and it's part of the reason we tell people not to buy them. They are very unlikely to help you .
