well, that's a failure of the immobilizer system that keeps people from stealing your cars if they don't have your key. It's a relatively complex system. You're either going to find a good mini mechanic or if you're lucky and your area, you might be able to find a locksmith who works on them who charge a lot less than a BMW mini mechanic. Good luck
