3rd Gen 4Runner Coolant Loss

Topic starter

2001 4Runner consistently loses coolant.  Every 2-3 days of driving the reservoir will be down.  No radiator or water pump leaks, no water is in the oil, and the oil cooler does not leak.  Compression is good in all cylinders.  It seems lots of people with 3rd gen runners have this problem.  Has anyone experienced this, and if so, have you found the cause?

Putting UV dye in the radiator will help you find the leak. Coolant is either leaking somewhere or it's going out the exhaust because you have a bad head gasket. You can pressure test the system using a leak down test.
