Drive Shaft problem? 3rd gen Toyota 4Runner

Hi, the drive shaft on my 2002 Toyota 4Runner 4x4 3.4-liter 5VZ-FE V-6 limited goes bad and starts clunking after about a year. Just hit 310K today.

This is my 4th drive shaft replacement for free because it has a one year warranty and it seems to go bad always within the warranty limit. I'm glad to have the warranty, but should drive shafts be going bad so often? I drive a lot of highway miles around 3000 miles a month.  I have read on the Toyota forums to grease the DS every 15K miles. What are your thoughts on this, are the driveshafts bad, or is there something wrong with my truck, do i need perform maintenance measures more often?

Thanks!

Certainly not. I've never replaced one in my life.

yeah of course you need to grease it. The fittings aren't there for fun.

It's even in the owners manual.

Actually, in the manual, my 98 said to grease it every 3k. Just about every maintenance would said to do some maintenance item, and grease the driveshaft.

I could always tell when it needed greasing, it would start to clunk going in gear and such. Most just do it at the oil change.
