Should I keep my 4Runner

Scotty, I have a 2000 4runner. It has 220,000 miles on it, runs good doesn’t leak, everything still works except the power antenna that died at about 45,000 miles.

Ive owned it since it had 19,000 miles. It’s by far the best vehicle I’ve ever owned, but it’s getting pretty old. I’m wondering if I should pump some money into it and keep it, or let her go and buy something newer. I think I could put 5000-7,500 into it pretty easily.

What are your thoughts and what would you recommend I buy if I let it go?

Thanks.

3rd gen man.

How should I know.

I would keep it and fix it and have it for another 200,000 miles as opposed to spending $40K on a new, electronic nightmare that will fall apart one day after the warranty ends, if not before.

Thanks for your opinion. Appreciated!

What else is broken?

What comparable vehicle would you get with $7500 in the present market?

Seems obvious and I guess it is. Thanks for your reply.

I say keep it too. When it eventually falls apart, get rid of it. I've heard the question asked, "when should I put down my pet?", the answer was, "you will know." Maybe it works the same for 4Runners.
