I am a recent convert to your cause of sensibly buying good used cars to save money. Which leads me to Toyota and my question. Which should I buy, a 4cy Venza/ Highlander or 6cy Venza/Highlander? I am looking at 2012-2013 versions models.

IIRC, one of those motors had issues. It was discussed here earlier this year. Maybe check the search bar above and see what you can find.
test drive them and see which you like better. I don't think reliability will be significantly different.
Do you need the extra seats of the Highlander?
I don’t really mind either choice as long I am not sacrificing reliability.
