4runner quit running

We own a 1999 Toyota 4Runner with a 3.4 l V6 with 205,000 Mi on it. We were driving up the road and it's simply quit running, when we checked the oil it was very low and the radiator was also low in fluid even though the temperature gauge read normal and the oil light did not come on. The only other thing is when I turn the corner to drive up the street the locks to the door activated a couple of times I have no idea why they did that. Is it possible that we might have an electrical problem or is it possible I have a blown head gasket?

It could be both. You may try the head gasket leak try kit first.

Not sure about the locks, but When was the last time you changed your timing belt?

If the belt breaks on those, you instantly lose power and the engine dies.

You may have multiple DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) with separate problems. One of the first thing that Scotty does is to get a scan tool on the car, and talk to the vehicle's computer. DTCs are clues, not necessarily solutions. But with low coolant and low oil, you might also want to have a look at the condition of the cylinders, with a cheap boroscope.

Obviously, the car shut down because it was overheating, and the gauges weren't working (electrical or dash component issue).

As for the doors shutting, the vehicle is around 23 years old. The driver's side master door lock (and window control) module might be in the process of failure (A separate issue).

You need diagnostic data and certain basic questions answered: Where did the oil go? (And how long has it been since the last oil change?) Where did all the coolant go? What's the condition of the radiator?

And lastly, beginning with the boroscope (but also examine the spark plugs, as well), what's the current condition of the engine?

Begin there, because if the engine is shot, you'll have some decisions to make.
