Hi Scotty,
I own a 2014 Scion-FRS (is/belongs to Toyota and is listed as Toyota on my car title), 6 speed manual transmission (6 gears + reverse), current mileage 67503, and I'm a bit overdue for my 60K mileage check up.
What should I look out for when bringing my car in to the dealership (or a car garage) for the 60K check up? What could mechanics try to sell me which I probably won't need? What are the main components that could have issues at this mileage?
I have been having trouble with gear shifting since a little while: The first, second and sometimes the rear gear don't want to go "in" right away. Sometimes it doesn't let me shift from 3rd/or 4th gear down to 2nd gear when I slow down for a Yield sign or similar situation. Could the synchronize collar not engage correctly or something with the shifting fork not working correctly? If something is wrong with the gear shifting mechanics how much could that cost?
Scotty said its likely the clutch is wear out if that happens its really low mileage to replace a clutch but if it's not going into gear right that's probably it. You want to pray is not the transmission because their expensive as could be to replace.
