SCENERIO:
Have no clue how it started but probably about a week ago I noticed every time I put it in D4 it would take about 2 seconds to start driving. Something called Delayed Engagement.
Replaces transmission fluid with Honda Genuine ATF-DW1, old fluid wasn’t too maybe a brown with a reddish tint, I imagine previous owner barely touched trans fluid since the drain bolt was super tight.
MAIN PROBLEM: After replacing fluid it seemed that the car was perfect, no more delayed engagement, shifting smoothly, no hesitation.
All for about an hour. After coming to a stop from the highway, as I accelerated the car was hesitating as if it was out of fuel or had a vacuum leak. I accelerated a little more and the revs went up to 6K but car wouldn’t respond. Switched over to D3 and car drove as usual. Now every time I accelerate from a stop (gear 1 to 2) it hesitates. Please tell me this isn’t a failure, could be a simple solenoid or a sensor?
Well strangely enough it stopped after you change the fluid but then it came back if his answers bad Johnny it's going to do it all the time that won't make any difference but crud in the system can do that. And when you drain it you're only draining a small proportion of the fluid that's in the system realize that you might want to drain it and fill it three or four times over the next few weeks see if that helps
Yeah I’m planning to drain it again.
Also, I received a code as I was driving: P0740 (Torque Converter Clutch Circuit.)
The transmission shifting problems come and go. Sometimes it’s back to normal and sometimes it stutters.
