Hello Big fan here, long time viewer too!

Help Scotty, My 94 Celica, auto 1.8l  had the battery tie down come loose the battery bumped the #4 sparkplug wire off of the distributor and broke the pin in the distributor, i replaced the cap, but still dont have a spark, i did the screwdriver to value cover bolt test. Hopeful for advice before i throw money at this car.

Well check all the fuses first could have easily blown ignition fuse. If not it probably shorted out the distributor and you'll need a new one you can get them at auto parts stores now they can order them

You're the man Scotty! I didnt even think about fuses. Thanks much will let you know how it goes, keep up the good work!!!

So i put in a duralast distributor from autozone seemed like the best of a bunch of bad options! Now the car runs but its shifting out of 1 and 2 gear at 4000 rpm, [was 5-6000] full throttle with or without OD. And then runs super hot in 3rd gear. Pretty sure its misfiring too as i feel a little hesitation when the cruise control is engaged. 45 to 75 mph

Did i just mess the timing up or is this distributor some junk, also wondering if the obd1 and obd2 distributors are different?

Thanks @Scotty Kilmer
