Hey Scotty + community!!
I recently bought a 99 Toyota Celica convertible, 131,000 miles with manual transmission and figure this may be the best place to get some help as someone who’s just starting to learn about cars!!
I am having an issue with the convertible roof where it goes maybe 70% of the way down. It goes back up just fine, but does not go all the way down. If you press the button a second time after it stops, it goes a little further but once it hits that stopping point the motors cut out on both sides. It goes down on both sides evenly. Any help or insights might be appreciated!! I bought the Factory Repair Manual and the supplemental one for the convertible top but neither troubleshoots this issue. Thanks again!!

For my experience of those, it's binding somehow. If you're lucky getting a new convertible fabric replaced, we'll fix it. If you're not lucky then parts of the armature are bent and that is one bugger to figure out
