96 Bronco starting issues

I have a 96 bronco with a 351 engine. 188,000 miles on it. One morning I drove it to the gym, worked out for about an hour, then when I came out it wouldn’t start. It would crank with plenty of power it just would not fire up. I left and came back and an hour later it started right up. I drove it home and parked it and then it wouldn’t start again. So I got a new ICM and installed that with the thermal grease. It seem to start up and run a little better and I thought the problem was solved. But then two days later it wouldn’t start up again. I did put a spark plug tester on one of the spark plugs one time it wasn’t starting and I don’t think it was getting spark. Anyway, any idea what could be causing it not to start at times? Thank you

well the only way to find out what's wrong is when it doesn't start do my video fixing a car that cranks but doesn't start up and really that old I would probably replace the entire distributor assembly

If you put a test light to to the ignition coil negative terminal and ground, does it toggle when you crank the engine? If it doesn't toggle, given the fact that you have replaced the ignition module, you most likely have a bad pick up coil in the distributor. If it does toggle you may have a bad ignition coil.

Check to be sure you have battery voltage to the positive ignition terminal. If not you could have a wiring problem or ignition switch problem.

If it will start and run with the Spout connector disconnected, you may have a problem in the spout circuit back to the ECM, or a bad ECM.
