Trying to get my old 98 ranger going again after it sitting for a few years.
Replaced the battery and it fired right up !
I let it idle for a while while cleaning it up and noticed some white smoke coming out of the tail pipe - revved it up a bit just to see and it didn’t go away, it started getting thicker and eventually the truck shut off.
Thinking it’s a head gasket ?
It’s been at least 1.5 years since I fired it up and probably about 4 years since I was regularly driving it.
Sitting at a touch over 300 k miles.
Tips, feedback, thoughts. All welcome.

Why not test it and find out? Go on YouTube and watch Scotty’s video. Do a search for how to test a blown head gasket in your own car. Scotty. In that video, Scotty explains how you can use a test kit to test for a bad head gasket.

I would also spray fogging oil in the cylinders, double check fuel pressure, and change the oil and filter. Oil looses its protection power over its time. Watch this video (hyperlinked) that will go over this in more detail.
