99 silverado with 255k miles
Just had a new transmission installed, wondered if these are good trucks to get even with the higher mileage? This would be private sale.
$5800 is absolutely unthinkably a rip off.
Those older Silverados were much better built than the modern ones, and can last a long time if well taken care of. For that price, I’d also keep looking.
I mean... for the right price. That thing has a lot of years and miles so I wouldn't pay too much, and only if it's in good condition.

yeah that's ridiculously high. I wouldn't pay more than $1k for that worn out engine.
I don't know why they would even install a transmission into it. I'm suspicious of the tranny too. The might have just changed a few o-rings and put it back in.
Why fix transmission than sell? Agree price way too high. Would keep looking.
