I have a 2018 Toyota Tacoma. I washed and waxed it today and although it looks pretty good, I would like it to look better (take out some light scratches and imperfections) I used Nu Finish today. What would be your suggestion for a product or products that would work better?
Nu Finish isn't a wax, it's a polish so it doesn't help with scratches. A wax will do the trick. There's a few on Scotty's Amazon Garage page.
I like Meguiar's Ultimate Liquid Wax. It is super easy to put on, and super easy to buff out. It covers those light scratches we all get, and it lasts for many months. The easiest wax I have ever used, and the best as well.
I use Turtle Wax and deliberately haven't waxed my car for 3 months, and it's the best I've used. I could wax the bonnet/hood this weekend and it wouldn't look much different.
I have always enjoyed the deep, rich and smooth finish from using Meguiar’s Gold Class Carnauba Premium Paste Wax on my 2004 Avalon’s diamond pearl white paint, but after reading @nlord ‘s recommendation of the Meguiar’s Ultimate Liquid Wax I will try using this product as my aging shoulders would appreciate the easier application with comparable and longer lasting results. But if you can handle the more strenuous “wax on, wax off” application of a paste product and would like to have a very silky and high gloss waxed surface as a result then I highly recommend the Gold Class paste wax.👍
Let us know how you like it, I used to use the same stuff you did, and it is good stuff. The newer types work different, but they only need a bit to seal and protect the paint. I am still amazed that the wax stays on and is protecting after many months. When I had my old 98 F-150 given to me by my Step father, it was a farm truck, but super low miles. The paint job wasn't bad, but it had scratches from driving in the woods on the farm. I used, at that time, the ultimate paste wax, and the scratches vanished, and the paint looked almost like new! Keep in mind the truck was garaged most of it's life, but it was 23 years old, and I got tons of compliments, and I even had people asked me where I got it painted!
The new ultimate liquid wax is the same stuff, just even easier to deal with. Hope you like it!
