Scotty, I have a 2015 Ford Edge 3.5L with 96k miles. On the A/C system the blower speed varies when set at two different positions. My vehicle does have auto but I mostly use manual. I’ve searched all over the internet and only found items for a bad motor or resistor and none of them mention variable speed except for when only one speed works. Can you clue me in?
ok first make sure your electrical system is in good health, by having you batter/alternator tested.
If it's not that, then the blower motor itself could be failing.
Good idea. I’ll have it checked out.
My pick is the heater blower resistor.
I was leaning that route.
I’m sorry, I may have misunderstood, but isn’t the blower speed supposed to vary when set at different fan speeds?
Can you try to elaborate further or maybe make a YouTube video in the vehicle describing your problem, and post the link here?
I too am a bit confused. Which speeds work and which don't?
Yes the fan speed does increase with each setting but it varies the speed on the second and sometimes the third fan speed setting in manual mode. Nothing on spend settings 1, 4, or 5. Example: driving down the road a/c is in manual mode and on fan speed setting 2. The fan speeds up then slows down. This should not happen in manual mode; only in auto mode. Thanks.
What happens when the hvac system is left in automatic mode?
I haven’t really used auto but I will over the next few days to find out.
