Hello I'm hoping someone can help me. I just got an A/C compressor for my 2012 Mazda 3 and my cat accidentally bumped next to it and it tipped over and I noticed that some liquid came out. I was inspecting the compressor and I forgot to put back the rubber seal on the compressor and liquid came out. I'm assuming it's refrigerant oil for the compressor. Now my assumption is to drain it and refill it with new oil just because idk how much leaked out. What brand of oil do you recommend for the compressor? Do you recommend I take different steps? The SKU is bbm461450c. Thank you!

Drain it and use fresh oil of the type recommended by the compressor manufacturer.

There will be a specification for the total amount of oil your AC system should contain. If the amount for the compressor is specified put that in and the remainder required into other components.

If the amount for the compressor is not listed, the general rule of thumb is to put 1/2 the total oil recommended for your AC system in the compressor and the rest in other components.

This should be done last before buttoning everything up to pull vacuum because the oil absorbs atmospheric moisture which can form acids. It's also a good idea to rotate the compressor by hand several times to lubricate it internally before running it. (Rotate the clutch plate not the pulley.)
