My dad has a 2016 Hyundai Elantra (Automatic) and I decided to change the cabin air filter, and it makes a sort of quiet constant popping noise whenever I turn on the AC. It gets louder as I turn the AC up. I know for a fact that I installed it the right direction and I know for a fact that something did not fall in because it went away temporarily as I took the new carbon air filter out. Do you know what I could do to fix it and if this is a problem or just an annoyance?

So the noise only happens under a/c operation or any fan operation? And what made the noise go away exactly?
I figured out that the new air filter was too thick and was likely AEM, which was restricting air flow, so I'm returning it.
