2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee. 3.6 L. Automatic. 116,xxx miles. No codes. Working on assumption of low refrigerant as other parts of A/C seem to be functioning as expected.
I am trying to nail down a price range for the complete evacuation and refill of refrigerant in my Jeep.
I know hourly labor cost differs per shop/region/etc. so for that I just need the number of hours needed.
How many labor hours? What is the cost of refrigerant and other supplies? What should I be wary of?
I'm just looking for a baseline to compare as I search for quotes in my area (Jonesboro, AR).
This is a piggyback question from https://carkiller.com/scottykilmer/postid/120207/
I read that separate questions should get a separate post, but I apologize if this question should've been put in the original post.
Why would you want the price of an evacuation and refill of refrigerant?
Your Jeep is only 7 years old.
You have a leak in your AC system.
Your refrigerant leaked out. If you evacuate and refill the AC system the new refrigerant will also leak out.
You need to either find the leak yourself. (you could use a dye and a UV light or a leak detector)
or you can pay to have the leak found, repaired, and then have the system evacuated and refilled.
Where the leak is occuring will dictate the cost.
An O ring, cheap. A compressor or evaporator, expensive.
