Hello...
I have a 4-cylinder Toyota Prado, model 2007, with a mileage of 280,000 km.
I have a problem with the cylinder head where there are pits/erosion. We decided to repair it by welding (build-up welding) and then resurfacing the head after welding. Note that the cylinder head has been resurfaced before, and this is the second time it is being resurfaced.
The question:
What type of head gasket should I use to compensate for the material removed by resurfacing, considering that the head is now at the minimum allowable thickness?
Is it possible to install two OEM head gaskets (the type with a metal layer), or should we use a single gasket of the semi-composite/carbon type with a greater thickness than the OEM gasket?
