About Windshield ‘Dings’

Hey Scotty, I have a 2008 Lexus RX 350.  On a recent road trip, a pebble hit the windshield (BUGGER!!!!). It left a little circular ding on the windshield, about a centimeter wide.  Is this simple to fix, or is there no way around replacing the whole windshield?  Man that would suck.

 Thanks,

 Omar

the only "fix" is to replace the windshield. In my jurisdiction there are rules to how many dings you can have and I think one is ok. Out here they also offer free chip repair. They fill it with some kind of resin but I think it's more for cosmetic purposes.

That’s depressing. 😕

if you travel highways a lot, this is a common occurrence, and it's why insurance companies provide comprehensive coverage for these kind of things.

If the chip isn't right in front of your face then I would just live with it for now.
