Hello Scotty (and friends)!
I was involved in a little fender-bender (no worries! No injuries or car damage). I was going literally less than ten miles an hour when I bumped into the car in front of me (traffic jam on a country road).
Anyway, the usual suspect lights went off on my dash - traction, vcs off, brake, and the ABS light as well.
I plug in my OBD tool and see three errors:
- C0215 - this one has since disappeared
- C1223 - ABS Control System Malfunction
- C1267 - Pedal Force Switch
I’m able to drive the car normally, but of course, I want to resolve these latter two codes, as the first one seems to have resolved itself. I need help diagnosing C1223 and C1267, as my research so far has been inconclusive as to how to resolve these.
If you need more details from me please let me know.
Thanks!
Pdiddler 🙂
C1223 - ABS Control System Malfunction
Generic code. It just indicates an ABS malfunction and you need to check for other codes to get specifics.
C0215 - this one has since disappeared
BRAKE CONTROL: VEHICLE STABILITY CONTROL SYSTEM: C0210/33: Rear Speed Sensor RH Circuit
C1267 - Pedal Force Switch
BRAKE CONTROL: VEHICLE STABILITY CONTROL SYSTEM: C1267/67: Brake Pedal Load Sensing Switch
C1223 appears to indicate a problem with your left rear wheel sensor or wiring:
For C1267 that looks like an issue with the brake pedal switch or its wiring:

C0215 also refers to a problem with the left rear wheel sensor.
