Hi Scotty need your wisdom. 2004 Accord V6 123K miles. Two months ago check-engine-light on mechanic said computer bad, but still drivable with check-engine-light on intermittently. Kept driving until one day while full stop on a heavy traffic freeway car died suddenly, couldn't turn on emergency light, whole dashboard was dark, could not shift gear. After about 5 minutes, dashboard lights came back everything back to normal started engine drove back home. From that point on no more check-engine-light on, but same symptom happened 3 times, all happened when I turned the key tried to start engine (still no any waring light).
One note, the GPS dvd drive had intermittent read problem before first incident, after that it always shows "Please check your disc" and I can't control functions need screen display.
I have a 1999 Honda Accord.
Your problem may be different than the one I had. But I will share my problem and solution on the small chance it may be the same problem.
I had no check engine light. Initially the car wouldn’t start. I got it started and even jumped.
But eventually, my car spontaneously died on me completely.
Or would spontaneously die and comeback within a split second.
When I went to examine under the hood, once I fiddled with the negative terminal, everything spontaneously came back on. It was basically a loose and rusty terminal. I tightened it up. And no problem since. I may put in a shim just to be safe.
One other problem I had about a decade ago was a relay under the wheel of the car. It really had to do more with starting the car. It didn’t spontaneously shut off.
