Hello everyone. So half the time i don't go by what Google tells me so I have a question but do aftermarket exhaust tips really improve fuel economy and horsepower as well? If so exactly how much of a difference? Few weeks ago I purchased a 4" JDM Titanium N1 Tip Stainless T-304 Exhaust Muffler 2.5" for my Honda Civic and plan on having it installed by a professional Friday after I have my transmission leak fixed.

In short. No it won't. You are literally adding nothing more than noise with the $30 thing you got. I am also assuming that your honda is also dead ass stock. The only way to chase hp is to do full swaps of a system(s), ya know like bigger injectors, fuel rail, fuel pump, turbo, supercharger, high flow exhaust and intake, full engine upgrade/swap, that type of stuff. Or if you can't afford it, a K&N intake at the cost of dirtying your engine due to the "advanced airflow" basically K&N is bigger air holes vs stock air filter, on the subject, pod filters are also complete bs and the reason for use is also noise/in the circumstance that you for whatever reason couldn't fit your stock air box anymore. If you are looking for economy, one way to do it is too fully rat out the car. My friend dropped his civic from around 2400lbs to 1900lbs by gutting everything haha. That's one way to get economy. For real though, If you want more economy outta your car, wait for the engine to get warm before driving and try not to rev the car past 4k if it's an auto and go the speed limit as advertised MPG in america is based off of cars going 65mph and take it easy and baby the car. Then you will get the full economy for the car. If you want even more economy than that make sure everything is up to spec, engine oil, tire pressure, is there a whole bunch of crap in the trunk? That type of stuff. You will most definitely improve the daily commute savings.

Note: it is very possible to maybe get a better tune for the car to even out the curve perhaps for more hp+economy but I wouldn't see the point to doing it to a stock car as civics are pretty reasonable already straight outta factory.
