I've got an 06 Accord LX Coupe 2.4L with 164k miles on it. The starter is finally going out. I trust the guy that I've been going to for the last year, and he knows my car well by now. He wants to put in a Bosch starter. But I've heard some people say not to use aftermarket starters because of excess voltage? Is this something I should be concerned with?
Thanks!
No, not if he gets the right part, from a local store, with a limited lifetime warranty. He should use the VIN to order the right part.
Is it brand new or remanufactured? -

remanufactured
When I spoke on the phone with the mechanic he said $245 for the bosch part, so I'm about 99% sure he was referring to the re-manufactured Bosch starter on rock auto. I checked there as well to make sure he wasn't pulling my leg. He's been trustworthy thus far tho.
Make sure it comes with a lifetime guarantee -
