Alarm issue or lock issue?

Scotty,

I have a 2014 F150 with 102k miles and the Ecoboost engine. Normally, when I lock my doors with the remote, the lights will flash and honk once after a 2nd button push. It would honk twice if a door wasn't shut all the way. Now, it does not flash on the first push, and honks twice everytime on the second. I have verified that all doors are shut tight and locked. All the troubleshooting I find is about bypassing the alarm, but not arming. Could this be an issue with the alarm or the locks? Any suggestion on how I can turn the alarm back on if that is the issue? This is the original factory system, not aftermarket.

Thanks in advance,

Scott S

I'm having a similar problem with my 01 Malibu.

Of course always try another good known remote to see if it has anything to do with that. But for my experience, it's often a problem in the anti-theft module assembly itself. As long as it alarms the car I personally would live with it. I'd lock the cars the doors manually if they don't lock with the alarm
